Backend Developer

Hubby eSIMMay 2026 - Present

Remote

  • Rebuilding the backend of Hubby’s live eSIM product, moving it from Node.js/TypeScript on Firebase to PHP/Laravel and PostgreSQL.
  • Build partner REST APIs (OpenAPI), booking flows and webhooks for travel brands such as Super.com, DERTOUR, Migros Ferien and SAS EuroBonus, compatible with the legacy API.
  • Built Stripe payments (top-ups, refunds, per-country VAT), queued background jobs and CRM and analytics events.
  • Lead partner go-lives: analysing their setup, migrating their data and API keys and running the cutover.
  • Join partner meetings as the backend contact and turn partner and product requirements into shipped features.
  • Ran a multi-tenancy security audit and found an access-control flaw in the legacy Firestore rules.
  • Own production incidents from root cause to hotfix and data recovery, with tested code (Pest, PHPStan).

  • Thesis: "Techniques for Implementing Quantitative EEG and Detection of Emotional States", published as "Techniques for EEG-Based Detection of ADHD Using Deep Learning".
  • Built a Python pipeline for EEG preprocessing (band-pass filtering, windowing, normalization) and classification.
  • Compared a CNN (EEGNet) with a fine-tuned transformer (NeuroGPT) using leave-one-subject-out validation.
